The ROC (Recreational Outdoor Centre) is a new development built by the Georgina township that is surprisingly fun and free by Lake Simcoe.

One can spend a few hours between the Bike Park and cut MTB trails in the cedar wood grove.

Go there mainly for the Bike Park as it is large, well thought out and challenging for all riders.

Here you will find 2 pump tracks, wooden skinnies, boulders, rock gardens, rollers and jumps for all levels to improve your skill set.

The loops are small but yet full of tight turns, obstacles, ramps and bridges. Three loops get progressively harder.

While this treed grove is flat and you won’t hit any hills, there’s enough to entertain but it’s hardly worth a long drive on its own.

Certainly still a secret to most BMX & MTB riders. Just south of Lake Simcoe they call it the North Shore Trails (as in shores of Lake Simcoe??) ..not quite. LOL

No official length on the trails and a good guess puts it under 5km. But it intersects everywhere so you could improvise a bit and make more of it.

This will be a muddy place if wet and there is work to improve the trail with gravel.

The BMX park is fenced with a locked gate. Don’t go too early or late in the season as you may not get in. Check the status

The MTB trails are are open any time but you really want to go when both are open.

This rec centre has many other activities you can check out – rock climbing, skiing, tennis…

This one’s not in my MTB trail guide, but 55 others are, with better topo maps and riding tips. Available as an eBook or paperback.
