Hilton Falls Conservation Area near Milton has diverse terrain for the Intermediate Park rider to hardcore mountain bikers who love rock.

You will find gravel roads that take you in and around the reservoir, to insane rocky sections that only experienced riders with dual suspension bikes should dare.

I would consider it a harder ride than Kelso, across the valley. You may wish to wear padding and armour if you are an aggressive MTB rider.

The good fun here, are the blues loops on the park map, the Five Bridges trail and Wally and the Beaver are favourites. Beyond there, the brown Lynx trails are a good ride too.

Expect plenty of rocky limestone outcrops to navigate, wooden bridges to cross and log hops/roots coming at you a-plenty. Yet the pace has enough easier gaps to enjoy the ride.

As a Park ride, this is Intermediate – Advanced terrain. Stick to the main dirt roads on the map. Expect lots of rocks and ridges on these access roads. And roads by the reservoir have some sizable hills for you to conquer.

Consider riding around the dam and pack a lunch for the falls. There are ruins of an old mill at the waterfalls which are the highlight of the park and is the easiest road to get there. A beautiful area in the fall when the colours are out.

When you start, take the right trail from the parking lot to avoid…
